Can they stop me in the county court house ?

I don't go anywhere to pay anyone for anything. I can pay my taxes while sitting around the house, listening to the quiet, eating whatever I want, in my underwear, and those are optional. BONUS? No People!

What is a reasonable gun law?

Every year people are killed by guns, therefore we need gun control laws. Every year people are killed by cars, baseball bats, knives, poisons, stupidity, cigarette smoking, alcohol, eating, fires, water, boats, trucks, rock slides, trees, airplane crashes, chain saws, garage doors, car seats...

52,529 guns once owned by police departments have been later used in crimes

Well, now I understand all the efforts to de-fund police departments.

      Training with cross eye dominance

I am right-handed. I've been doing everything left-eye dominant for my entire 67+ years. I didn't know it was a problem to be overcome. Forcing someone to do something that is not natural FOR THEM is NOT a valid approach. If the shooter is left-eye dominant, help them shoot well that way...

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

Now I am even more happy I don't have one. My 442 doesn't have one, either, nor my CA Off Duty. Why does my 686+ have one?

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

This gun did not come with the TSS (Totally Stupid Security) lock. That makes me happy.

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

Thanks. The trigger is much better already. Mostly smooth, just heavy DA. About 30 years ago I had a 2" Taurus 85CH, 5-shot. I liked it, and it had a nice trigger.

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

Got it cleaned up, got photos. Nothing remarkable about the fit and finish. It comes packed in a cardboard box, with the shown extras. I like that they include a real, workable lock, and a snap plate (the orange thing, better name?). Both would be useful to a person w/o other options. I'd...

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

Ok, after a night of rest (me, not the gun), my fingers/hands/arms are not so worn out. The trigger is way better than it was, but still heavy. That is a common complaint in the reviews I've read of this gun. As such, I am not ready to open it up, just yet. Moving on.... I may as well...

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

Thanks. Before I order any parts, I'll open it up to see if anything is obviously wrong/bent/whatever. After 1,000 DA cycles, it is smoother (not good, just better), but still VERY heavy. I've already found a good video on 856 complete takedown.

My Brand New Taurus 856 Defender

I picked it up this morning. FIrst off, I like the flat black finish. Report say it is not really durable, but I think it looks good. I could not resist taking it out of the box in the parking lot. The trigger is absolutely horrendous, worst I've ever felt. Heavy, gritty, grinding, and I...

      Interesting Revolver Behavior?

Brand new Taurus 856 Defender acts the same way.

Should I have kept my mouth shut ?

I agree with you, up until firing the errant employee. Training/retraining should be required at that point. If he declines the training, or fails to follow it, then his job would be at risk. Proper firearms safety is not difficult. The hardest part is remaining ever-vigilant. I've been...

Should I have kept my mouth shut ?

You did right. The salesman was so far wrong the only way to classify it is: "STUPID". That salesman had a prime opportunity to instill some gun safety habits in that customer. Opportunity my big white ass; he had a duty to do so. He failed. He failed before, and whether or not, you noticed...

Talk me out of .327 revolvers

Don't do it. My ultralight Off Duty and 442 can be fed for $24 for a box of good SD ammo. I am not limited to 5 rounds either. Lots of companys make quite excellent ammo strips. I have 3 5-round and 4 8-round stips. They are faster than speed loaders because the work really well on little...

      Interesting Revolver Behavior?

That is what my Charter Arms Off Duty, S&W 442 and 686+ do. I think it is just part of the design. When operated properly, my guns function properly. I am picking up a new Taurus 856 Defender, tomorrow. I intend to post a review of sorts, with photos. I will include this 'behavior' in my...

Fan of cheap guns... or just a hypocrite?

92FSTech, I should have been more clear about the DA/SA thing. I felt that I was more prone to ND with that type of trigger, and I never completely trusted the de-cocker. For me, a cocked & locked 1911-style gun is an easier model to master. The DAO trigger of revolvers, and DAO pistols (I...

Fan of cheap guns... or just a hypocrite?

I agree. DA/SA is going the way of the Dodo. Gimme a 1911, or a revolver. OK, I have taken a shine to my Kahr DAO, too. I had a Sig P220 many years ago. IMHO, DA/SA is an ND waiting to happen.

Fan of cheap guns... or just a hypocrite?

I feel the same about my CA Off Duty and 442. If you don't mind, what is your carry and spare ammo for the 642? I am using PPU 158gr SWC in a strip for BU on both guns, and still deciding between Georgia Arms 148gr WC, and Double Tap 148gr WC as my standard load. The GA is slightly snappier...

Fan of cheap guns... or just a hypocrite?

I really like INGO. I learn something here on a regular basis. Like the 85 also came in a 3" barrel. Never knew that!
