Just to follow-up here. I took a look at a couple of CW9s whose history I'm familiar with. One has 200 rounds through it. The other was purchased used and has 100 rounds through it since then (by the wear, I'd guess 400 rounds total). Both exhibit similar wear to yours, although it's confined to the finish at this point and has not yet started scratching up the recoil spring guide. The muzzle ends of both the springs felt "sharp" to me, so I think a good buffing of the end of the recoil spring should solve the problem. BTW, part of the savings of the CW9 over the P9 is less "finish". Some might think having to polish the end of their recoil spring a fair trade for saving $150+ or so on the initial purchase.
