| I didn't get "good read" from this, except for it being a good read on a liberal mindset. All the way through, he's citing studies that support "gun control", mentioning the point about the 5,314 or however many Texans arrested for crimes in a five year period-note that no one said anything about them being tried, convicted, or about them being violent crimes, nor is there any comparison of how many arrested vs. how many with CCW permits nor for comparison's sake, how many arrests of people without CCWs vs. total population without CCWs. Finally, he used the tired old cliche about "guns are made to kill people". No. Guns are made to send a projectile at high speed in a specific direction. Guns can be used to kill people. They can be used to shoot targets. They can be used to deter criminals without ever leaving the holster. They can be used as collectors' items. Hell, for that matter, they can be used as a hammer if you need to crack open a walnut to eat it or to knock down a nail that's popped up out of the wood it was first put into. The use is not relevant to the manufacture.
I'm pleased to see that he learned that carrying a gun is not illegal. I'm pleased to see him admit his obvious prejudice to Mr. Carmichael, and as for his "head-in-the-sand" mentality, all I can do is shake my head. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
