This works best only when full and complete disclosure takes place. The marketplace requires an active community sharing information so that full disclosure is either happens from the seller or the community supplants the missing/incorrect information. If I go to the car dealer and the dealer says, "hey I've got a great deal for you on this brand new Camry," when in reality it it has been in a huge wreck and was readily rebuilt, the consumer relies on outside information that is readily obtainable to determine appropriate value.

The rule as currently written makes a trade-off between encouraging full disclosure of information from the community and ease of use for those moderating. Since this isn't my forum, I won't dictate how to the rules should work. I just want to make clear that there is more going on that what the arguments to date have appeared to be.
