I'm just trying to help him out, I've had some HT antenna
connections loosen up from the strain.
As you know, a loose antenna socket could do further damage
internally to a handheld radio.
His radios have SMA connections, meaning they are even more
susceptible to this problem.
There's a couple different types of RG6 and they can be a bit stiff.
He didn't go into detail about which type he had.
Yes, a "really thin piece" of coax and/or a piece with a braided
center conductor is exactly what I'm talking about.
