Obama is without a doubt far more anti 2nd than McCain, however neither candidate has a good record so its really a losing issue for both parties. So they'll brush it under the rug.
Not that it really matters. Gun owners will still compromise their values and vote for the lessor of two evils. |
We have a choice between:
Candidate A: has tried to make it clear that he will support our 2A rights. Yes his record is mixed.
or
Candidate B: has PLAINLY and clearly said he will support a permanent ban
on what would probably equate to any firearm deemed "not sporting" and
repeal provisions that inhibit gun traces (is it me or does that sound
like mandatory registration?)
Which means you'd have to change your member name to
"blackpowderjunkie" or "Rem700junkie"
I'd be compromising some of my values no matter who I voted for.
It just depends on the priority of your values.
The 2A is up there right around number 2 on my value list.
I'm not so sure Obama hasn't sponsored some gun control bills at the state/local level.
You know, the IL FOID card and chicago's wonderful laws.
It's hard to tell, he's done so little, except vote "present" when
a simple "yes or no" would suffice.
