| I'll be taking up a defensive position with my .357 revolver to cover my wife while she takes the .357 carbine and moves to barricade with the boy and call 9/11. I'll remain where I'm at and shoot anyone who shows up in the hallway. She'll shoot anyone who appears in the boy's doorway until I tell her it's clear, or she sees a uniformed officer. Said officer had best be announcing himself properly.
There is no reason for the cops to be doing a no knock raid on my house. If they make a mistake and pick the wrong house, simply shouting police won't be sufficient. Under the stress of the moment, and given the space and layout limitations of our house, it's highly unlikely I'd have time to hear them. I'd just have to take my chances with a jury.
No knock raids are heavily overused nowadays, and hideously dangerous for the officers and occupants. Cops need to start being cops again, and not para-military forces, IMHO.
