Selling on Gunbroker opens an item up to a national market as opposed to a local market, for example a particular gun advertised locally may find 3 people interested but when put on the nationwide market you may have 50 times that many thus driving up the bid! I also prefer buying locally with cash and a handshake but always look around for deals and comparisons. I also have noticed on GB that listing is free so it seems gun shops around the country can list they're entire inventory for free and ask a starting bid of the price they want in the first place, then any bid above opening is just more than expected, for guns that do not sell in the alotted auction time the relist is free and un limited, the gun also remains for sale at the local shop also therby exposing the gun to many potential customers.
