I agree about the broad spectrum antibiotics. Both Doxcy and Amoxicillin (as well as stronger, injectable antibiotics) are readily available via pet supply houses like Calvet (http://www.calvetsupply.com/)

Of course, you should never use prescription drugs of any kind without a vaild perscription and under a doctor's supervision...blah, blah, blah.
