I think the rifling on a foste slug has been covered here, it does not impart any spin to the slug. Not inside a smooth barrel and not after it leaves the barrel. The slug is not spinning when fired from a smooth bore shot gun.
A slug is pretty close to .690 of an inch already. What is a hollow point going to accomplish? Most of them look like a doughnut with a hole in the middle when they come out now unless they hit bone. Best thing about sabots is they get full penetration a lot more reliably than the foster slugs now that you can hardly find any that are not hollow point.
Spinning fins and hollow points on shot gun slugs, cheap theatrical gimmick to push product to suckers who don't know any better. The world would be better off with out either one or at the least no worse off with out the silly fin gimmick.
