In the Wheat field, across from my wife's work. Nice 6-8 point in velvet. First deer I have seen all season with horns. I am starting to get excited already, and November is such a long way away. This will be the first year in about 15 that I plan to really, seriously get into deer hunting. I've been going the last couple, but just going to a small patch of woods, and not really doing any serious scouting. I have been trying to do a little more planning, and seeing this really gave me an adrenaline boost!!!

Anyway, I was just wondering if this is about the normal time to start noticing the antlers, or have I not been paying attention. I usually watch all the time while driving, looking back into the fields and such, and this is the first set I rember this year.
