The Cap & Trade bill passes, increasing the taxes on energy used in every home and business in America. Home utility bills double, at least. People cannot afford to heat their homes. People cannot afford to put gas in their cars. Businesses close up operations and move their companies overseas.

The Cap & Trade bill imposes cumbersome regulations on people trying to sell their homes, forcing them to abide by the strict and expensive standards of the bankrupt state of California. A person selling their home will have to first get approval from a team of government agents, who will come in and make sure you have the right doors, windows, trim, insulation, wiring, etc, etc. And if you don't you will have to pay to upgrade all those things, making your home more expensive to buy and more unlikely to sell.

Everything in the stores becomes grossly overpriced due to the energy taxes it took to make them and ship them there. Most American industries will die off along with many starving, freezing Americans.

Who needs science fiction scenarios when a bill like this just passed in the House of Representatives??
