I have put my 15'4" square stern on Monroe plenty of times. Heck, I mount a 6hp two stroke to the back and get up and down the ohio river and fish with no worries. Just pay attention and fish the shorelines and you will be fine. Just make sure you have all your required gear for DNR. WHen they see a canoe on a big body of water they cant help but stop you. Everyone seems to forget the Phoenicians.
