Chronic long term medical

I have a thought that has been bothering me for a while. About three years ago at age 36, I was diagnosed with diabetes. So far I am lucky and dont have to shoot insulin, I just take a pill morning and evening and watch what I eat. I was bummed really bad at first but I have learned to deal with it. The thing that has been really gnawing at me is what happens to me if S really HTF. Not talking about a temp thing like a riot or Katrina but something long term and sustained. The treatment/meds for my current condition are very simple (basic cheap drug and food choice) but if we have a societal breakdown and I cant get the meds I need, then I will prolly be a goner with in a year from it. It kind of defeats the purpose of stocking up on everything. Are any of you in the same boat and if so what are your plans?
