Subcompact as in the Glock 30? Springfield doesn't make a 45 in subcompact, only compact (4" barrel, shortened grip). Both could be easily concealed in the right holster, and either choice is a good one. You may want to get the owner's permission to carry in writing, with his signature, since the company policy says no weapons in the building. It must be nice to have an employer that allows carrying
