| A friend's son was just there for two weeks (with a girlfriend from GB). He reported back that he hung out with a bunch of the guys in her old neighborhood and did "you know...guy stuff...just hanging out." He said they were all completely amazed that you could just "walk into a store and buy a gun" in America. He actually had people coming to him just to hear him say it again because they did not believe it.
Were all the Brits safer without guns in the hands of the public? Nope, not a bit. In fact, he said that EVERY SINGLE DAY while he was hanging out with the boys (while GF was off with the girls), they practiced knife fighting in the park. He said everyone he met had at least one knife if not more on them at all times and that they seemed to be very good during knife fighting practice.
I suppose if knives are outlawed, the boys will practice with rocks, then clubs.
The moral of the story is that in GB, you have to take a KNIFE to a KNIFE FIGHT.
