My granddaughter (will be 10 on the 13th) came in and said: "Happy 4th of July". I responded: "Happy Independence Day". She looked at me like - Huh?

I told her that we were celebrating the 233th birthday of our Declaration of Independence from an oppressive government.

I know I'm going to have to "teach" her the truth about the history of our country. She's not getting it in school.

I'm a school bus driver and I see it in all grade levels.

No wonder there is such a great number of drop-outs.
