| What's sad is that the "normal" attitude in America was to be prepared. Our parents (grandparents for you striplings) always had extra for "just in case" because they grew up during the depression (or worse). I'm not sure how that attitude was lost, but perhaps it's because life has become too easy and too convenient for most people. They don't think about walking a few miles to get a sack of flour.
Mainstream society could learn much from Mormons in that regard. They take preparation for emergencies and tough times seriously. |
