| Ultramax makes use of Accurate Arms powder. Unlike their rifle powder, AAs pistol powder always seemed dirty (especially #9). I switched to Alliant and Hodgdon just for that reason alone.
The rifle ammo is sort of blah and can be violent as Shay says. Lots of Politzi use it for training, which due to demands, can have quality issues. HSM had (Had being the key word) quality issues with their ammo due to demand. Ultramax does have issues, but hasnt rectified them.
If its for a large quantity/strategic reserve, I would look at HSM or similar, not Ultramax though. If its for a few boxes, take a look at Walmart and the Blazer brass series. Not terribly expensive, decent quality and wont blow up your gun like Ultra could!
