obviously I don't know all the details to the story, but I always thought he might get off. Something told me that if 2 guys charge an old man that is wielding a shotgun, they must feel that they could overtake him. In light of that fact, he would be somewhat "justified" in the shoot. Disparity of force, opportunity, motive, etc, etc... Just my not-so-humble
