Got a reply from NatCity.

Initially, I got the standard reply email, "sorry you experienced poor customer service....". Later, the manager of the branch in question called me personally. We talked for about 20 minutes or so. He said that the metal detectors are there to stay, but that we should be able to work something out. While I couldn't get him to go on the record & say out right that we could carry into the bank, he did say that he'd like to meet w/ me personally. He further said that a solution might be to meet w/ the manager of whatever branch I use the most and if I end up going to another branch, that has detectors, call my branch & have that manager call ahead to the other branch & they "should be able to accomodate" me. Now, I am not sure if that is b/c I have a badge, but I tried to make the case that I had a carry permit since I was 18, & that the training I've gotten in the accademy & since, was no more rigorous than what I had before & that a legally armed citizen posses no threat to anyone but a "bad guy". I also pointed out that individuals w/ carry permits are the most law abiding members of society, even more than LEO's, and should be afforded the opportunity to defend themselves inside & outside of the bank.
He made some references to some folks he had dealings w/ in the past who were visibly armed & that was very uncomfortable to him & the staff (I guess it was an unpleasant discussion @ the time). I offered to do a little class for him & anyone @ the bank, who wanted to become more knowledgable & comfortable w/ guns. I told him that more often than not, the reason for the fear was ignorance, or lack of knowledge or familiarity & I would be happy to help them out.
I'm awaiting his call back.
