I've had an "Electric Orange" INGDirect checking account since they came out. My account has
always been that way. Did they previously offer a different type of account?
I keep multiple bank accounts with multiple banks, but keep most of my money in online deposit accounts to get the better interest rates. I do keep checks handy (and money in the accounts) for rare times when I want to write a paper check. ING doesn't serve well as an only bank, but works pretty well for storing money.
If a bank ever denied me entry because I was carrying a gun, or because I couldn't go through a metal detector, I think I'd do just as Bill of Rights suggested - find out if it was just one jerk making life tough, and if it is corporate policy close all my accounts as quickly as I could transfer them.
