| Congratulations...........I've been a little leary of packing since this B.S. started. I think the permit is issued by the information in the State Police records system. They rely on the counties to report to them as well as other States. I have found, as I'm sure your well aware of by now, it's easy to have botched record. A friend of mine's sister works in the firearms records division ,downtown indy, she tells of very limited reporting and long record transit time from courts, if at all. So when IMPD pulls your info up they may have things Jefferson County Sheriff dosen't,as well as the State Trooper checking your DL, just an example but i'm sure the FBI is somewhat more dedicated in their search for some way to screw you around. Having a permit in Indiana dosen't do squat for you in terms of a purchase (leagally) you could buy from someone FTF and carry under leagal pretenses, but if the FBI dosen't clear your name your a felon twice according to them. When the ATF comes to your door with a warrant I personnaly wouldn't know what to do ?? After talking to the NICS they claim they don't communicate with the ATF and denied knowing how they (ATF) could be aware of an attempt to purchase a firearm just by my FFL calling in to do the customary check prior to a sale. So somebody's full of shit in my mind. I just can't figure out which branch of the gov. it is. I spoke with my lawer and he says wait out the NICS, FBI, and the ATF, if it goes down unfavorably we will force our hand of truth on them.
The saga continues...................
