Range Report:

So I got a chance to put 60 rounds thru the 19 with its new grip modification.

Overall I would say I'm VERY impressed. I didn't have much time, so I was shooting at a standard bulls-eye target from 15 feet. I started with a few draw and fire drills. My very first shot was dead center, right in the middle of the 10-ring. The remaining shots were uneventful as I tore out the entire 10-ring eventually. As AllenM once said "it was boringly accurate". But, I was there just to get a "feel" for the grip.

The first thing I noticed was that my grip on the gun seemed much tighter, with fewer 'gaps'. I credit this to the removal of the finger grooves. They always seemed to spread my fingers too far apart. Now my fingers locked on there tight and didn't move, thanks to the rougher surface. I also felt as though I wasn't shifting my grip after each shot like I used to. It was therefore easier to get back on target for follow-up shots. I could also focus on other things, like breath control and trigger reset. One-handed shots had the same improvement.

And here are my two "cons":

1) Although the stippling feels great in the hand, it does not feel so great against the bare skin on my side. I've already decided its time to trade in the Infidel for an MTAC.

2) If I had it to do over again, I would not have it stippled so high up on the backstrap. After shooting today there was some minor irritation on the web of my shooting hand. This was caused by the recoil snapping the gun back and rubbing against that part. It was not awful by any stretch, but in retrospect I would've been just as pleased to have the stippling come straight across the backstrap. (see pic)
