What is the difference in the options regarding scope mount offset on AR scope mounts. Some mounts are 2" and others are 3" offsets. I am mounting a Vortex 1-4x24.
    thnaks for the help!

Depends on how much eye relief is needed and how far forward you want your scope. I have a vortex 1-4x and run 1 piece mount with 2" offset

That particular scope sits in a primary arms deluxe mount. I think they're like $60. It's about the least expensive mount I'd recommend to someone. It's plenty beefy and holds zero. Scope is ok for the cost. It's plenty clear. I honestly don't shoot that gun much.

Truth be told either will work for 99% of people. If you shoot NTCH then you might prefer the 3", if you dont you might prefer a 2", if you plan to put MBUS sights on you will probably want the 2 inch.
