I have a friend that has an AK and wants to put a red dot magnifier on an AK. I have not seen mounts for this. He currently has the AR style risers on it. To me that just seems like a bad idea with the cheek/chin weld and all of that. Do any of you have better ideas? The magnifier would need to be in one of those fold over mounts to get it out of the way. Thanks!

Is it a 7.62 or 5.45 AK? Seems like a lot of work for a 7.62 AK that is inherently not very accurate, but if you want to do it, I'd recommend the TWS Dogleg rail, I don't think there is a way to get it to mount lower than that, and should provide more than enough rail space.

If it's a 7.62x39, I'd just stick with the red dot. If it's 5.45, those are typically much more accurate (on par with an off-the-rack standard AR).
