![]() ![]() ![]() | PowrBall Ammo Anyone have any thoughts on this ammo? I just picked up a box of the ammo in 9mm. 100 grain at 1475 fps (claimed on the box at least). I'll be using it in my new Kahr PM9 once I break in the pistil and sufficiently test the Powrball ammo.

| BOFH ![]() | I've thought a lot about the various ammo types, and had come to the conclusion Pow-R-Ball was a likely winner for winter use. Although now that some of the newer hollow points don't have problems with barrier materials preventing expansion I might re-think that. Originally I was thinking a Pow-R-Ball going through heavy winter clothing was more likely to expand reliably. Now I think it's primary advantage is in some problematic pistols it's a lot more likely to feed than traditional Hollow points. What I would suggest is, whatever defensive round you intend to carry, put 100 - 200 of them through the pistol. Don't make excuses if the gun doesn't run, try another ammo until you find one that does run through all 100 - 200 rounds without failure. Failures during a gunfight really suck, and excuses don't make them suck less.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Great advice W9ZEB. The Kahr does have a bit of a reputation for being picky and the Powrball seemed like a good choice. I will definitely run 100+ rounds of the Powrball through it to test for reliability.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Have you checked this out yet? Federal Premium - Self Defense The EFMJ are supposed to be the intermediate of a FMJ and a hollow point. They are not supposed to open up as easy as a hollow point. |
