![]() ![]() | the stock recoil guide is fine. the stainless or other metal will add mass, and the math tells us that it will adjust the recoil impulse. for me the main benefit is the spring will chew up the stock guide a bit and POTENTIALLY affect the operation of the gun. the spring doesn't "stick" or chew into the stainless rod. the operation is smoother. smoother is better, right? is it needed, not really, but... my competition glocks have stainless and tungsten guide rods. my "street" guns are stock. that may change in the future. ymmv
