Where did you buy your SS guide rod for the 26 I can't find any.

Glock Lover, I will normally buy from GlockStore.com - Your Ultimate Online Source for Glock Parts and Accessories. , There was about a two week backorder but one thing I like about glockstore is that they let you know there's a back order and when the part will be in, and your not sitting around a month waiting and wondering where's my order.

the stock recoil guide is fine. the stainless or other metal will add mass, and the math tells us that it will adjust the recoil impulse.

for me the main benefit is the spring will chew up the stock guide a bit and POTENTIALLY affect the operation of the gun. the spring doesn't "stick" or chew into the stainless rod. the operation is smoother. smoother is better, right? is it needed, not really, but...

my competition glocks have stainless and tungsten guide rods. my "street" guns are stock. that may change in the future.
