New G26 recoil rod and spring

Has anyone with a G26 replaced the guide rod and springs with a after market drop in stainless steel set, if so how do you like it, any difference in the recoil, any weight difference?
Have one on order and it should be here tomorrow.

Did you do this because the old one broke or for some other reason?

The reason I looked into replacing the Glock guide rod and springs with stainless steel is that I had a buddy of mine that is a range officer tell me that it helps with the recoil on the sub compacts.
It has to do with the extra weight of the SS.
Of course the old one isn't broke! it's a Glock.

I would be interested to know as well. My g26 came in today, and I am hoping to shoot it this weekend.

My G22 was so violent with the stock recoil spring setup, that my 14" Dan Wesson 44 magnum had LESS RECOIL.

It would make your wrist and trigger finger sore in 10 shots or less.

I have witnesses!

After the guide rod install, it shoots like any typical 40 cal.

A little snappy but with 250+ rounds down the chimney in an afternoon, my wrist and trigger finger feel fine.

Finally after a month I was able to get away and drove up to Bulleye's in Kokomo yesterday and shot 200 rounds with my G26. After putting in the SS guide rod I really couldn't tell any difference in the weight of the gun, but I have to say that there is less recoil.
Shot from the 3, 7, and 15 yard line. From the 15 yard line I was shooting 3-4 inch groups which is good for me.
