which batteries to use?

i bought 2 Romisen RC-M4 3V~8V Cree 1-Mode Flashlights. heres the link so you can see DealExtreme: $17.30 Romisen RC-M4 3V~8V Cree 1-Mode Flashlight (2xCR123/1x18650)
my question, they will take either one 18650 or two CR123A batteries. Does one battery have an advantage over the other? longer life, more energy discharge? which will make the flashlight the brightest? is there even going to be a difference?

the flashlights themselves look and feel well made and the reviews on them are good.

The CR123 will be easier to locate.

But when it comes to FL and batts, it is best to wait for the rhino to drop by and educate us.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Craig ...

Unfortunately I know next to nothing about the 18650 batteries. They're not easy to find except by mail order from sources like dealextreme.com. They also seem to cost more than a pair of similar quality CR123A batteries, so I've not had much motivation to learn more about them.

I encourage anyone who really wants to learn more about lights and batteries to join www.candlepowerforums.com. There are some real experts there!

I've always seen 18650 as used for rechargeable situations. The CR123 are better if you plan on using disposable.
