| Twenty Dollar Transfers for Members ![]() | The costs of 22 shorts Can anyone tell me why 22 shorts are so expensive? It is like sugar free drinks and food cost more than that with sugar. I would guess the volume made has something to do with the cost but still they are out of sight compared to LR shells.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Gotta go with supply and demand and economies of scale. Just like why 9mm is cheaper than .380.

![]() | Just curious... What are you putting the shorts into? I like shorts out of my dad's Browning BL-22... great for dispatching chipmunks in the yard. ![]() -J-

| Twenty Dollar Transfers for Members ![]() | I would like to try them in my Ruger Single-Six revolver. Think they would shoot OK? I looked around the Ruger web site but did not read anything about this subject. Perhaps I should email Ruger with my question and get an answer right from the horses mouth.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | .22 rimfire uses a heeled bullet, so the bullet is smaller at the back to allow the casing and bullet to be the same size. This was done so that you could shoot different length cartridges in the same chamber. It should be fine as far as I know.

![]() | I used to have an H&R 22 revolver that would shoot shorts, long and long rifle from one cylinder and had an interchangeable for magnums. It worked fine with everything I used. I currently have an old Winchester 22 rifle (model 1906) that says right on it 22 short, long or long rifle. It also eats everything with no problems. I don't think you would have any problems shooting shorts.
