     | what recoil pad do you recommend? As the title says, what recoil pad do you recommend? My golden state arms mauser in 30-06 has a wood stock, with plastic butt plate. It bruised the heck out of my shoulder today and would like to find a good recoil pad to put on it for now till i can afford a new stock. Any suggestions? I will admit that after a while of my shoulder hurting, I did go to my car and grab a old sweatshirt. Put the sleeves together and doubled them over to try to help. It helped but could still be better.
