And don't forget, these things pay for themselves in the first 600-800 rounds, simply due to the cost savings over 5.56. In this one session alone (400rds) we saved $146.80 (I dare any wife to show me that kinda savings on a Walmart receipt! )

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm gonna buy one of these for my old man for Christmas (don't worry, i'll get one for me too). I have an idea for another test though. Do the same test with 1 rifle and swap the BCG to see if one .22 conversion is better than the other. The second weapons groupings seem to be better in general and had no malfucntions, but is it operator error, rifle differences, etc? Just curious, i'm scientificly minded and enjoy lack of variables. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I made a slight edit to my OP. Originally I had the order of ammo used the same for my string and lovemywoods' string. I forgot, however, that we went in a slightly different order. Therefore I edited lovemywoods' ammo order to correctly reflect the results.

This test is impossible to compare apples-to-apples because the guns/optics were very different. We had a 1x red dot with 2moa dot on mine, and a 2x donut-dot with 1moa dot on the other, which is most likely why one seems to group so much better. The CMMG had 3 failures in 200 rounds that day and the Ceiner had 0. However, the next day lovemywoods experienced 3 failures in 74 rounds with the Ceiner kit. All conversions seem to be a bit finicky. I think an apples-to-apples test is in order!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I take it that since the barrels used were 1:9 and 1:7 barrels the only conversion that you used was the bolt and mags? Original .223 uppers? If so, did you get a chance to see how "dirty" your gas tube was when finished? Just curious I'm on the fence with these kits and prob won't get the upper with it.

Yes, rifles used were regular rifles fitted with CMMG and Ceiner conversion bolts and mags. http://ingunowners.com/forums/access...rsion_kit.html Both are 5.56. Quote:
Putting 10 rounds of 5.56 after a range session is enough to blow out any dirt/debris out of the gas tube. Not a problem. Quote:
If you're mostly looking at it for plinking or as a training aid in your own AR, go with the conversion.
