Glock Night Sights

I bought a g19 used and it appears to have night sights. However, I cant see them at night. I was wondering if that means they really arent night sights, or if theyre just in need of a recharge or some such. They have a slim white ring around a yellowish ball if that helps.

Do you know how old the sights are? Tritium loses its glow over time.

i have no idea how old they are. its a gen 2 though. oh well. thanks for the help anyway.

Quite welcome. Dim/dead NS are common on police trade-in guns. Tritium is self-luminous and cannot be "recharged". My advice, if this is to be a carry gun, is to get some fresh NS installed as soon as possible. Second the recommendation for Meprolights.

If they are that dim they are dead.

I wouldn't recommend Trijicon either.. get some Meprolights for that bad boy.

I have Meprolights on all my Glocks.. they are very bright in my opinion.

I got some meprolights put on at the 1500, I like them but I've also never had any other kind, I took the recommendations from many of the members here.

I personally prefer the Trijicon over the meprolights. The dots are smaller, but more intense.

well, that was going so well. everyone was in agreement on the meprolight, and i was all set to go out and get a set. then someone had to crash the party. now i have a bit of indecision. you see what i did there?
