![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I almost always shoot a little amount of CLP into the trigger area of my firearms. I use the tube that comes with the spray to try to just get it into the contact areas of the fire control group. If I spray too much, I use a paper towel and let the excess run onto it, then wipe down any excess that runs out. The only time you can overlube a trigger area is if burnt propellent gets into the area and can cause a build up of carbon suspended in the oil, which defeats the purpose. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Never put any sort of oil in your trigger mech.... it collects dust and grime which in turn creates extra wear changing your trigger pull or at the min, making it feel heavier that it normally is... rather degrease with carb cleaner or similar, and use a LIGHT touch of clock oil, or remoil to metal to metal pivot parts NOT INCLUDING the sear or anything that might drip oil onto the sear. this is on a functional gun, if you are putting it away for storage then put oil to prevent corrosion, but be sure to pull it back out before the range

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | OK, Just sprayed some in the tigger mechanism before reading the last post....anyway likely needed to be done. Had never cleaned out the trigger are before. the excess ran off and down the trigger so hopefully all is well. I did wipe it down good afterwards. It's a Ruger so I won;t notice any change if the trigger stiffens ![]() Well we'll see how it performs in a few days at the range.. ![]() Thanks for the input folks

![]() ![]() | +1 Have recieved several trades now where the internals were all crudded up due to over lubing. I use break cleaner for clearing it all out. Does wonders.
