Where do you get your ammo (Indy area)

What are the best places to pick up cheap ammo? I am on the west side of indy and I checked the closest walmart and it looked like they only sold shoutgun ammo.

I am mostly looking for 9mm, Don's guns is close to me but their cheapest 9mm is 50 rounds of American Eagle for $20.

I have heard some decent things about the Winchester white box (WWB) ammo that they sell at walmarts, but are there any walmarts around here that stock handgun ammo?

I have not seen a Wal-Mart in Indiana that didn't sell 9mm ammo.

As of a few weeks ago, a 100 round box of Winchester White Box at Wal-Mart was around $21, Meijer was around $24, and Gander Mountain was $27.

I usually buy from Meijer or Gander Mountain because I don't agree with Wal-Mart's business practices.

If you look around on other threads, I think you'll find the reason the Wal-mart on the west side doesn't carry ammo is for "safety" reasons. (Although I'd recommend looking again; it's usually in a locked case near the sporting good section at other locations.)

Please don't give your business to Don's. You won't find a lot of supporters of him here.

Drive around a bit and find a different Wal-Mart. Or go to a Meijer. Depending on where you're at, you might check out Plainfield Shooting Supplies or .. what's that new store in Avon? Fort Liberty.

I was pretty disappointed with the service at Don's. No one seemed to care about the customer at all, and alot of their prices seemed a little on the high side. I will have to do some exploring and see what other gun stores there are around here.

The walmart over here was a little on the "ethnic" side, so I could see why they might not carry handgun ammo

The WWB ammo for $20 sounds like a great deal, I will have to shop around and see what I can find.

I just bought a WWB 9mm box of 100 for 19.97 at walmart. I have bought several boxes and not one problem.

Yea, for some reason the new WalMart on Lafayette road doesn't sell pistol ammo, only shotgun shells.

I know that you asked for Indy area suggestions in your post but you might also consider MIDWAY USA and CHEAPER THAN DIRT.(both online )
Their newest catalogue list many brands of 9mm ammo (50 ct) at around $12 per box for jacketed military ball .

I tell you, that Wal-Mart is the United Nations... I was shocked at how many people from how many cultures I saw in there the one time I was in there a few months ago. It was kinda cool.

Try the pawn shop at 10th and Alton. Looks a little rough from the outside, but they have a suprisingly good selection of firearms and ammo.
