    308 vs 30-30 vs 300 blackout

So, have some different 308 bullets that I picked up but now I need to know what to load them for. I am getting ready to reload 308, 30-30, and eventually 300 blackout. Not sure if any of these are ideal for 300 blackout, but the others I will use between 30-30 and 308. The ones I am most curious about are the 100 gr plinker rounds. They seem really small to reload for 30-30 or 308. Also, when you reload 308 and other rifle rounds do you use the powder through expanding die designed for rifles or a seperate perfect powder dispenser? I am told many individuals don't use the rifle powder dies because it does not dispense enough powder for the large amount that rifle rounds require. Any info would be most appreciated. Here is a picture of the bullets I have. Thanks.

None of those would be good for 300BLK unless used in a bolt gun, maybe

As much as I hate to admit it, I trust Cwood's expertise.

Figured I would not be able to use them for 300 blackout. Though, just trying to figure out what to do with the 100 gr plinkers then. I do not own a 30 carbine, just 308 and 30-30. Guess I'll trade them off for some brass or something.

I wouldn't use any of those bullets in a .308. 30-30 for the barnes and sierras as indicated and the 100's are good 30 carbine bullets.

Recommendations for 308 bullets then? Running a little low on factory so I need some more bullets to start reloading 308 soon. Also I will be loading 300 blackout eventually. Maybe a good round for both? Thanks.

Those 100gr plinkers could be used from your 30/30...in fact, they're probably just as well-suited for that as they are for the 30 Carbine. The actual 30 Carbine bullets typically have more of a tapered ogive than that.

Is your 308 and 300AAC built on a semi-auto action? I presume the Blackout is, but if your 308 Win. is a bolt-action, that changes things a bit. I like bullets in the 150-165 grain range for 308 Win rifles, but mine have all been used for hunting or target, and were bolt actions. The one that shoots really well from my son's Savage is the 155gr A-Max.

For 300BLK guys use 147gr pulled bullets for plinking, 200gr+ for subsonic and 110gr Barnes blacktip for hunting.

For 308, 168gr or 175gr Sierra MatchKings for precision work.
