Capitalism: supply and demand. I don't blame them for trying to make some money in a free market. I just don't buy from them, let them stuck with all the ammo. the supply is good from what I can tell, I get there earlier than the flippers beat them at their own game. I'd recommend you do the same thing instead of all pissed off.
I've sold some 22's to INGO members at my cost from Walmart just couple weeks ago. keep looking.
If I had the time to beat the flippers, I would. But I have a life apart from camping out to buy a few boxes of bullets.
To the extent there are under the table arrangements, that is black market, not free market.
If they're doing it to make a few bucks, are they declaring it as income AND paying sales tax? Otherwise, it's gray market at best.

Yeah! What he said!
Down with capitalism and free market!
Actually, buying up all of a resource in order to artificially create scarcity and inflate the price is not free market at all. It IS capitalism though, and is a good example of one of the major flaws in pure capitalism. All pure economic theories have some pretty major flaws.
Snakes are snakes and folks are folks. The 2 must co-exist.

Now I'll go sit in a corner while I'm called socialist or communist or whatever.
Stop buying it.
Look, the best way to make people stop flipping is to stop making it profitable. Is it going to end your ife to not shoot your .22's? Is it a need or a want?
If it is a want and if you won't die to shoot something else than your .22's, then you;re as much to lame as those who buy up all the ammo if you make it pay for them to do so.
Nothing [STRIKE]purple[/STRIKE] here, I traded some sub-sonics even up for some .22 LR's a week ago, until those I had given mine to the 4H so the youth programs could continue.
I didn't have a single round of .22LR from January until last week and I survived just fine. I have yet to pay for .22's at a ridiculous price, though I wil eventually since i know most folks lack self control.
As Nacy Reagan was so famous for saying, "JUST SAY NO!" to high prices, flipped .22 LR ammo and you will be amazed at how fast you will start finding it again in the stores.
