First time out this season with the Marlin 95 .45 Libertarian this morning. I had put a red/green dot sight on it and it works well. The gun is a hammer boys and girls. I'm using (as some remember) 405 gr water dropped hard cast lead bullets. It entered the front shoulder , hit heart and lung and exited cleanly out the other side (big hole). I thought it would stay in especially after going thru the shoulder bones but no. Kinda would have liked to see the bullet faster but that thing must have held together pretty good.About a 25 yd shot, deer went 20 yds and crumpled up. I'm actually surprised it went that far. My new go to deer rifle.

Not familiar with the cartridge, but a large bore cast bullet works well on just about anything.:yesway:

ive used that cartrige for the last 3 years in an H&R buffalo classic. 405 gr flat point an 40 gr 4895 cronos 1550 sounds like a car wreck on the hiway when it hits deer.
