Question I have some 45colt long ammo I picked up a couple years ago at gun show and went to range other day and thought I would run some in my ruger Blackhawk and the primers are set to high and drag against the face should I pull them all and reset primers or could I just reset with a hand primer, sound like it would not be safe to me but wanted to hear from someone else

I had a friend ask me about some similar reloads in .300blk.
Upon inspection it was obvious that the primers had not been fully seated.
I used a Lee hand primer to gently seat them properly. No issues.

    .
Do NOT reseat primers on loaded ammunition.

    DO NOT.

That's right along the lines of looking down the barrel of a loaded pistol for fun. You might get away with it 99 times, but that hundredth is a real SOB.

I have mix feelings that's why I asked, I never had a primer go off with a hand primer but never did it on loaded ammo I think I will pull them I think it is just the idea of it being loaded

So, did you learn not to buy ammunition that comes from an unknown source?
Bought it when ammo was hard to get and had bought from him before, he is always at the Indy gun show will check a lot closer next time , load all my own now

I thinking I would knock them down. Are they going to go off while reseating them, probably not. But is it worth the risk? You decide. I can not in good faith tell someone to to do it. There is always a first for everything, this first could be a last.

I have pushed a few in the past but in the quiet time afterwards, I realized that I might have just dodged a bullet. No pun attended.

I woundn't do it again for just ammo.

Yeah, the safe thing is to pull the bullets and save the powder and bullets. You can safely push the primer with empty case back into the pocket, but wear eye protection and ear protection in case you pop one.
