Precision Cartridge 9mm Range Report

I picked up some 115gr 9mm ammunition from Precision Cartridge in Hobart this weekend. I have never (knowingly) used their stuff, so I wanted to give it a go. The price was right, and the people were friendly, what's not to like, right? At first glance, the stuff looked pretty nice. Clean and shiny, uniform primer seating, nice brass etc. Very good for remanufactured ammo. I took 5 rounds from each bag (they are packaged in bags of 50 instead of boxes) and mic'd them. They all mic'd within .003" of each other, all 100 of them For reference, I mic'd a whole box of PMC Bronze, and their tolerance was similar. Today I took some to the range along with my chronograph. First I ran some of the PMC through the chrony. It averaged out at 1077fps with a range of +/- about 12fps. Next I loaded up some of the Precision Cartridge stuff. It felt noticeably "snappier" than the PMC, but not more than some other factory loadings of similar bullet weight/style like WWB or S&B especially. At the chrony end, it ran at an average of 1168fps, about 100fps faster, on average, than the PMC. I didn't shoot for accuracy, but it seemed to go where I was pointing it. All in all I'd give it a . It wasn't particularly dirty either. I'd not hesitate to buy this again, for that matter, I see no reason I wouldn't pick up a case or 2 every time I go to visit the in-laws in Valpo. I'd also recommend Precision Cartridge and their product to anyone looking for a source for ammunition.
