Midway Backorders

Anybody else have a ridiculously long backorder with Midway USA?

I've had these on order since April 4th. At the time, the 'Date Expected' was only a week away. Since then, it's continually been changed once the new date rolls around. Usually it would get pushed back another week, but there was one time when it got pushed back a month. The most recent was supposed to be 6/27/09. I never got an email confirmation, so I just assumed that they moved the date back another week or two. Today I checked again, and now the Date Expected is 9/26/09! This is ridiculous!

I haven't had much trouble finding FMJ target ammo locally, but I refuse to pay the inflated prices of $35 for 20 bullets that the shops seem to have on JHPs. I guess I'll just have to wait.

midway is actually known for not filling backorders by the date expected.... better to find the stuff elsewhere if midway doesnt have it in stock

Boss Safety, Midway, MidSouth Shooters, Brownells, and another one that I forget [been so long]. Have no idea what's the problem. Patience is a virtue so I've been told. Only solution is to order way more than you need, and start the wait.

I think Midway does this so you will continue to make orders.

I ordered some reloading stuff from Midway the first of May and am still waiting. The expected date for an RCBS shell holder is now August 3, they keep moving it out. I guess it doesn't really matter that much anyway, I ordered bullets from TVB at the same time and can't get them either. TVB won't answer phone calls or emails. I have problems getting bullets from anyone.

i have been backordered by midway in the past... several month wait. Then out of nowhere it showed up at my door. It was so long i forget that i ordered stuff. Maybe not the best way of doing business. So be patient, especially now with everyone trying to keep up demand.

I've had a backorder from Cabelas since April; same story there too.

I had a magazine for a Taurus PT-140 on backorder, I waited for 2 "date expected in stock" cycles then canceled the order. I don't really blame midway for that though, as the magazines for a PT-140 Millenium Pro are just flat out hard to find.

Maybe Midway is lurking on the forum. I ordered a set of Hogue Rosewood grips for a SW-39 about two months ago. I kept seeing the expected ship date move back......and back......and back until it was finally all the way back to late October.

I got an e-mail today about a Midway order being released for shipment and was shocked to see it was the grips. Wow. I don't understand how they could possibly be that far off, but am not complaining as these will replace some old and chipped grips on a gun I'm trying to restore.
