Thanks! Just ordered a case. I've been waiting to find this stuff. I've run quite a bit of Silver Bear with very good results. It is accurate stuff, and not really any dirtier than Remington or any other ammo I've shot. I'm betting the brass coated casings will be even a little better.

I don't understand the brass coated steel case concept. Not to derail the thread, but why do they put brass over the steel? Doesn't it also have a lacquer over the brass too?

Brown Bear has the lacquer, Silver bear has zinc coating. All of these coatings are to ensure that the casing cycles through the action like brass. The brass coating is all that is needed, so there should not be any coating on top of it. It should function just like a brass casing. My experience with Silver Bear is that it does just that.

I am gonna order the Silver Bear myself. I've run a lot of .308, a LOT. And I have had nothing but good from it. I think it burns hotter than brown, wolf or PMC.

for another $40 (shipped) you can get 500 rounds of real brass cased Centurion. Sometimes you have to wait a week or two, but AIM will always backorder it.
