![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Peters "Victor" or Alcan shotgun shells? A friend of mine does occasional clean-up jobs and hauls the "trash" to the dump. On one of his recent clean-ups, he ran across an old wooden ammo box marked "Ammunition for Cannon without projectile" Blank M395 for How. An old crate that obviously held 105MM Howizter dummy training rounds. Inside the crate were several boxes of 20 ga. shot shells. Mostly 6 or 8 shot, and a few slugs. I have three boxes marked: Peters (Dupont) Victor Rustless, smokeless, shotgun shells -Flat-top crimp. These are paper shells! Box of 25 rounds has a hand written price on it of $2.55! Other boxes are marked Alcan- Smith & Wesson-Fiocchi Inc. Altom Il. "GameAx and has a Woolco price tag of $2.60! Neither of these boxes look any newer than maybe 50 years old! Anyone ever heard of these brands? Any ideas how old it may be? I don't see any reason it would be unsafe to shoot. It may be all duds by now, but I can't see that it would hurt to try it?
