Backorders

Has anyone else been on backorder for ammo for a year now? Just shot off another backorder extension confirmation email for an order I placed in January of 09. Original expected ship date was March, then June, then August, then November, now April '10.

I've cancelled a few backorders when they came back with an ETA of 'indefinite' and others for calibers I no longer need. But I still have three orders that I placed between January and August this year that have been on backorder continuously since I placed them.

Just curious what type of ammo would be on that long of a backorder???

My backorders are never over 30-60 days.

wasn't Sportsman's Guide by any chance---I understand they're notorious for doing that.

sportsmansguide is the two longest running backorders. Cabelas is the third.

I've picked it up when I can find it, but I have the three orders I've just left standing hoping that some day they'll be filled and I'll have a nice present waiting on my doorstep. The cabelas order included other calibers as well and I've received some of that, still waiting on .38 and .380 though.

Where are you guys backordering and actually receiving your orders?

I've got 1 of each type of 500 cases they have of .380 backorderd at Midway. I got one backorder of Buffalo Bore SD Ammo from them, but that's the only other thing I ordered.

Im waiting on a backorder from sportsmans guide for a 700 round tin of 7.62x39 wolf for $130 shipped......... yes, Ill keep waiting for that price

I have two orders for 1k of 9mm that have been back ordered since april and March of '09. I keep them open, but have received orders from Midway and Copes for orders since then.

I've had backorders outstanding for Hydra-Shoks in .40 since last October. One supplier simply e-mailed me back after the second extension with a note that they "did not foresee receipt anytime soon."

I've had .380 backorderd from sportsmanguide for 8 months now.
