I've read a lot of threads recently where INGO members are talking about BBQ. I did some searching and found some old threads dedicated to BBQ, but I thought it better to start a new thread instead of raising one of those old ones. This the place to discuss anything BBQ or smoker related.

Here are some pictures of the Ugly Drum Smoker that I built a couple of months back. I still have to paint the outside, but it works just fine (and it is called an Ugly Drum Smoker ;) )

Here's my first smoke. Once the ribs were about 1.5 hours from being done, I tossed on the potatoes and the other vegetables. I should have put the potatoes on sooner. At the low temperatures, I had to finish them in the microwave. Since this smoke I've read how to trim the ribs properly instead of just throwing them on how they come from the store.

This was my second smoke, a pork loin wrapped in bacon and stuffed with apples, bacon, and a little bit of brown sugar.

My best smokes have been picnic roasts that I turn into pulled pork, but I don't have any pictures of those. Next time I do one I'll try to remember to take pictures.

Excellent! I just threw a slab of St. Louis style spares in the offset firebox smoker.

I'll get some pics of them later but here are some past efforts:

I'm going to be throwing a brisket on the smoker Friday. It'll probably look something like the pics I've posted before. I need to get some pork shoulder to pull, so that'll probably be my next project.

I cheat. I have a smokey mountain gas smoker. Fist sized chunks of soaked cherry or apple wood in the box does the trick fora couple of hours of smoke.

And we can do a bunch of homemade pizza at the same time if we have people over.

I have two chickens on the smoker now, it didn't take long to get it together and fired up.

I have to try a pizza on it, that looks awesome!!

No pictures, but my ribs turned out awesome. Very tender, bones able to pull clean, but not mushy. My smoked mac and cheese was really good. The macaroni needed a touch of salt to it, but otherwise they were perfect. I grilled the corn, but next time I'll use my second rack and figure out the timing better so I can smoke it instead.
