Well, if Bobby actually has sex with Rogue, whether with "protection" or not, he'll prolly die. That'd be the worst form of **** up I can think of in the Marvel universe.

Well known superheroes have been going through bizarre metamorphoses since there were well known superheroes. Other superheroes have been stepping in and taking the place other leading superheroes. There's nothing at all strange about these comic land shake ups, either Captain America having to sit in the back of the bus or Thor having to sit when he pees.

When Batman went MIA, former boy wonder Nightwing stepped up to don his former partner's cape and cowl so it looked like he never left.

When Supe "died", there was a boy and a robot among a complete rogue's gallery who stepped up claiming to be the one-true-man of steel.

Batman Inc. has "localized" Batmen all over the world.

When Barbara "Batgirl" Gordon strikes out on her own as Batwoman, she gets her back broken and retires her cape and cowl to become Oracle. The mantle of Batwoman is taken up by not just a lesbian, but a Jewish lesbian, and girlfriend of GPD Det. Renee Montoya, who, for a time, herself, masqueraded as The Question.

And did anyone miss when Nick Fury became black so that Samuel L. Jackson could portray him in the cinema?

Peter Parker "dies" and a different spider-based mutant take on the identity of your friendly, neighborhood Spiderman.
    He's half-black/half-latino. :xmad:
    WTF?

And now Thor's getting an incarnation where he's a she. In genuine Norse mythology, Loki both mothered and fathered half of the monsters in the lore. If anyone is losing their **** because Thor is gonna have a four issue limitted run as a female character, I shudder to think what would happen to their heads to think of Tom Hiddleston (actor or portrayed Loki in the movies) transforming into a mare and giving birth to an 8-legged horse named Sleipnir.

In the original Norse myth, Loki and Thor go full transvestite so that Thor can go in place of Freya as the promised bride of the king of the rock giants so that Thor can get close enough to steal back Mjolnir, which the giant king had stolen.

There is nothing new under the sun, ladies and gentleman. The last thing to get bent out of shape about is the albedo and all the bed partners of comic book characters.

So now, Cap is stepping down and a superhero linked to the Captain America series since 1969, The Falcon, is gonna carry the shield. There's no news here.

The only folks getting bent about this and Thor are old white men who don't read comics.

The comic community is mixed, but not from a socio-political standpoint.

Marvel is in it for the long run (movies, that is; as well as comics). Actors sign contracts for a certain number of movies. Actors get old. Replacements are necessary. It has been happening in the comics for decades. As long as the writing continues to be strong, and people don't get tired of them, the movies will continue to be hits for many years.

With Steve no longer able to be Captain America, Sam Wilson is an excellent candidate to take the mantle of Cap. We all know that eventually Steve will be Cap again. It amazes me what other geeks get worked up about.
