    We play anyone can go alone, but has to be declared when it's your turn to order/name trump. Dealer can't call a loner on partner's order...

    I don't have a copy of Hoyle handy but, if your partner has enough trump to order, the dealer can infer the other team is trump deprived, therefore increasing the odds of loaner success... We love our family Christmas Euchre tournaments.

    yup. it is valuable information. even if the dealer says he wants to go alone but is denied, THAT is useful information for his partner.
