I know little to nothing about computers, as those who have tried unsuccessfully to help me learn how to post pics can attest. My 14 yr. old granddaughter has been saving her babysitting money to buy herself a computer. I gave her enough cash to bring the total budget up to $700.

I'd like some suggestions about which make and model she should consider.

    Thanks in advance.

Good luck on that hunt. My GF got me a Dell last year. Only specifications I know is it's red. Does A LOT more than I know how to use. I think she ordered it straight from Dell instead of Best Buy, etc. Works flawlessly.

Definitely have some computer gurus on here that can help.

My it guy sells dell but recommended that I stick with business class machines and not the lower end homeowner stuff. $700 should get you into an i5 processor (or an i7 possibly) with plenty of ram and a solid state drive. That's his minimum recommendation.

If you had another $700 you could get a nice low end Mac (just kidding)....we buy HP computers and have enjoyed their longevity...definitely get an i7 processor if you can, i5 at a minimum. The one with the most RAM wins. I also suggest Windows 10.
