I wandered around Cabelas in Hammond for about an hour and a half with $65 worth of points and an additional $20 off any purchase over $150 and didn't buy anything.

This year, I had three trips to Cabela's that I left without buying anything. Two times, it was because I didn't find what I went there for. One time, I just wasn't feeling it.,if you know what I mean. Don't worry, next time you will make up for it.

I made a similar trip to Cabelas recently also. I got a $25 gift card for xmas. I'll be back there again soon enough, if I don't find a way to better use it online.

I have gotten gift cards to all the big box high priced stores in the past.
I give them to the spouse as she likes the clothing lings/styles.
I do my best to stay out of those places unless there is a specific need/item.

That is why I stay away.
They have nothing in there I really want/need especially at the price points.

I have asked my family to stop getting gift cards here for that reason. It's a bummer but unless they have a decent sale going on which seems to be less and Less these days, it's just not worth it to me.
